Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of San Diego, Mermaid Valley Vineyard has abundant sunshine and cooling coastal breezes, making it an ideal location to produce fine wines. Founded by Kim and Scott Flinn in 2013, over 3,000 vines were planted in 2014 with the first commercial harvest coming in 2016. Mermaid Valley Vineyard’s climate mirrors the southern Rhone region of France and therefor the majority of the grapes planted are Rhone varietals. Mermaid Valley Vineyard is 100% estate grown and produced and has an annual production of 700 cases.
Scott completed his University of California Davis Winemaking Certificate Program in 2017, successfully crafting multiple award winning wines. The 2018 Siren’s Song, a Rhone style blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, was awarded double gold, Best Blended
Red Rhone, and overall Best of San Diego County at the 2022 Toast of the Coast Wine
Competition. Their 2017 Late Harvest Zinfandel, a special dessert wine, also was
awarded a double gold in the 2020 competition.
Mermaid Valley Vineyard is a current member of the Ramona Valley Vineyard Association and the San Diego County Vintners Association and would love for you to come taste for yourself the wonderful wines of Mermaid Valley Vineyard.
